I bought this to protect a new futon mattress from our cat that tends to have accidents. Very first accident the cat had on it, the mattress protector leaked and all the urine went right through it and soaked the futon. It is not waterproof in the slightest and I would not recommend this for anyone hoping to protect a mattress against pets or children that might have accidents.
