This is a great tripod for taking family pictures. Excited to use it for the holidays and on our next vacation! It holds my samsung galaxy S8 with no problem. We've only used it inside so far to test it out. Will update this review after we go out to take fall pictures at the park.

The tripod stand is well made and each of the clips to expand the stand work well. They are easy to open and close but hold your phone well. I tested the phone with an older phone that was smaller as well as my oversized phone and each was easy to clasp into the holder and it held it well. With the remote control you can get a variety of photos not only as a selfie stick, but set it up as a stand for your phone and step back to get a distance photo of you with your surroundings. Perfect size for hiking or travel as it fits well into a backpack if needed.
